World Cup 2018: Argentinas 23-man squad confirmed for summer tournament talkSPORT
Argentinas squad for this summers World Cup has been finalised by manager Jorge Sampaoli.
Sampaoli originally called up 35 players to his preliminary squad, but he has settled on the 23 players he will take to Russia.
The big-name absentee is Mauro Icardi, who has failed to usurp any of Argentinas attacking talent to earn a place on the plane.
Icard is the joint top-scorer in the Serie A this season, having plundered 29 goals to help lead Inter Milan back into the Champions League.
There was a suggestion Icardi could get in to the final 23 due to Sergio Agueros recent injury troubles, but the Manchester City striker has been deemed fit enough to be named in the squad.
Sergio Romero, Willy Caballero, Nicolast Otamendi, Marcos Rojo and Manuel Lanzini are the other Premier League players included in Sampaolis selection.
The full squad can be seen, below:
Goalkeepers: Sergio Romero, Franco Armani, Willy Caballero
Defenders: Gabriel Mercado, Federico Fazio, Nicolas Otamendi, Cristian Ansaldi, Nicolas Tagliafico, Marcos Rojo
Midfielders: Ever Banega, Javier Mascherano, Eduardo Salvio, Lucas Biglia, Angel Di Maria, Gio Lo Celso, Manuel Lanzini, Maxi Meza, Marcos Acuna.
Forwards: Lionel Messi, Sergio Agüero, Gonzalo Higuaín, Cristian Pavon, Paulo Dybala
